About the Role


The Project Manager runs the entire lifecycle of localization projects. You will be responsible for managing and delivering all projects to agreed quality standards, client specifications, on time, and within budget.
While focusing on process and execution, you will create production schedules, manage profit margins, contract and manage independent resources (linguists, vendors), and maintain seamless communication with clients.

Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions
1. Project Management & Execution
• Lifecycle Ownership: Effectively manage projects scheduled within tight timeframe and budget constrictions.
• Workflow Preparation: Analyze and prepare files for estimates. Format files using localization software to ensure a smooth workflow before assigning them to the team.
• Scheduling: Create production schedules and prioritize daily activities to accomplish project goals effectively and efficiently.
• Optimization: Identify ways to improve the quality of delivered projects where possible within timeframe and budget constraints, continually striving to improve project management practices.

2. Financial & Vendor Management
• Budgeting & Estimating: Create proposals and estimates (from generic simple estimates to large, complex ones, usually in conjunction with the sales team).
• Margin Control: Calculate profit margins, manage project budgets, and determine possible discounts for large projects.
• Rate Negotiation: Negotiate base rates as well as project-specific rates with vendors to ensure profit margin goals are met.
• Resource Coordination: Coordinate and communicate with translators, editors, proofreaders, DTP/graphics staff, and QA specialists using the company's process systems and software tools.


3. Quality Assurance & Editorial Review
• Linguistic Review: Review translated materials and edit for sense, accuracy, grammar, style, formatting, and consistency.
• Final Delivery: Review and finalize all files from linguists prior to client delivery to ensure all quality control procedures and client specifications are followed.

4. Communication & Client Relations
•Client Success: Ensure effective communication and maintain strong relationships between clients and project team members (primarily via email).
•Reporting: Produce analytical reports, correspondence, and other work products demonstrating professional competency, quality, and thoroughness.

Job Requirements


Education & Experience
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Linguistics, Business Administration, IT, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management, preferably within the interpretation and translation industry.
• Industry Tools: Must have hands-on experience working with memoQ and Plunet.
• Age: 35+ years old.
• Location: Must reside in Argentina.

Core Skills
• Language: Full professional fluency in English (excellent oral and written communication skills). Articulate well, speak precisely, and write clearly.
• Tech Savvy: Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, highly organized, innovative problem-solving, negotiation, and critical thinking skills.
• Work Style: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Strong interpersonal skills with good judgment, discretion, and flexibility in work hours.

Specific Job Skills
• Critical Thinking & Problem Sensitivity: Ability to use logic to identify alternative solutions and the capacity to anticipate when something is likely to go wrong.

Desired Skills (Plus)
• Previous experience in localization project management or the language services industry.
• Familiarity with TMS (Translation Management Systems) and CAT tools.
• Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (Acrobat, Illustrator, and InDesign).
