Position Summary

We are seeking an IT Support Specialist who can function as a generalist across IT support, security and compliance, and process automation. This is a single-person technology function remote company serving regulated industries. The role requires genuine breadth: you will own our Microsoft 365 environment, hold our Security and Privacy Officer responsibilities, maintain ISO 27001 compliance, and support internal automation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Core IT Support

● Provide timely identification, diagnosis, and resolution of technical issues across the organization.

● Document all support activity in the ticketing system. Monitor the ticketing system to ensure issues are addressed promptly.

● Serve as the primary technical resource for end-users on hardware and software issues, with particular depth in Microsoft 365, Intune, Entra ID, Defender, 8x8, memoQ, and XTRF.

● Manage technical onboarding and offboarding, including access provisioning, access revocation, and data archival or transfer for departing team members.

Microsoft 365 Ecosystem Administration

● Serve as sole owner and administrator of the client's Microsoft 365 environment, including Intune (device enrollment, compliance policies, configuration profiles), Entra ID (identity management, conditional access, group policies), Defender (endpoint protection, threat monitoring, incident triage), Exchange Online, and SharePoint.

● Responsible for licensing management, tenant configuration, security baseline enforcement, and ongoing administration across all M365 workloads.

Security and Privacy Officer

● Implement, maintain, and monitor our ISO 27001 information security management system and ensure ongoing compliance.

● Develop, update, and enforce information security policies and procedures.

● Serve as Security and Privacy Officer with responsibility for compliance with HIPAA, GDPR, and CCPA.

● Conduct regular risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and access reviews.

● Lead security incident response and coordinate breach notifications when required.

● Maintain compliance documentation and audit trails, and prepare for and support security audits.

Translation Technology Support

● Administer and maintain memoQ and XTRF, including integrations between those platforms and other business systems.

● Support optimization of translation workflows through technology.

Process Automation

● Identify automation opportunities through direct observation and stakeholder input. Develop and implement automation solutions, primarily using Power Automate.

● Support API integrations between internal systems where applicable.

Requisitos

Mandatory Requirements

  • Core Experience: 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience operating within a Microsoft environment.

  • Infrastructure & Identity:

    • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and Intune (MDM/MAM).

    • Strong administration of Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) and Active Directory.

    • Practical experience with Google Workspace administration.

  • Security & Compliance:

    • Management of Microsoft Defender for endpoint and identity protection.

    • Direct experience with ISO 27001 implementation and ongoing maintenance.

    • Working knowledge of data privacy regulations: HIPAA, GDPR, and CCPA.

  • Technical Skills:

    • PowerShell: Intermediate scripting abilities for task automation.

    • Linux: Basic to intermediate system knowledge.

  • Education: Degree in Computer Science or a related field (equivalent professional experience also considered).

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

  • Cloud & Data: Familiarity with Azure cloud services.

    • Dashboard and report development using Power BI.

    • SQL proficiency and basic database management.

  • Industry Specifics:

    • Prior experience in the Language Services or Translation industry.

    • Familiarity with Translation Management Systems (TMS) such as memoQ or XTRF.

  • Emerging Tech: Hands-on experience with AI and LLM (Large Language Model) tools

  • Time Zone Requirement: Candidates must be available to work during U.S. Central Standard Time (CST) business hours:

    • 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM CST.
